Mainly showcases friendship bonds.
Be it Sheldon with his quirky attitude, Leonard with his awkward behavior, Howard with his sexed up personality or Raj with his problems, the 4 friends never gave up on each other, had each other's backs all along keeping aside the occasional rift arising due to comic book debates. Aside from these 4, Penny surprised us all by not just being a beauty with an attitude next door, but gelled in with the guys, even kicked some balls(literally) in their defense.
Everyone was accepted for who they are.
Amy was a surprise to us all when she was introduced in the show. She was Sheldon's perfect mate, mirroring his every antic in the beginning. The friends did not hesitate to take Amy in, but supported her in all the ways, becoming the friends she always dreamt of having- Penny is BFF goals with the painting. The makers gave her a real character development throughout, without feeling rushed. Raj's feminine side wasn't discouraged, but he was quite open about it. Occasionally mocked by Howard, we feel a connect with Raj and how Howard feels terrible about it.
Gave all the characters a happy ending.
"Our babies are going to be both smart and beautiful"- Leonard's line, which Sheldon thought it to be a joke, turned into reality at the end. Lenny get together and we learn Penny is pregnant, hence Leonard's story a coming to a full circle.
Sporting a casanova attitude in the beginning, Howard was a huge flirt. But as the series progresses, we are pleasantly surprised and sort of proud of the level of maturity Howard exhibits, for instance when he let Bernadette have her time in the Doll house away from the chaos of the house. Howard completely transforms into a family man, with 2 beautiful kids, achieving his desire to be he hoped to be to his children, which his father never was.
Shamy are proof of circle of life. Proof that support of your significant other is everything. Sheldon is transformed into a self centered weirdo to a selfless weirdo, who refuses Nobel Prize, his life's goal for the sake of his better half. They are an example of how with the right person by your side, you grow as a person exponentially.
Raj overcomes his need to be loved by anyone and everyone, not to mention his disability to talk to girls he overcomes with Penny's help.
It's cool to be a nerd.
To all the nerds out there, Big Bang theory was a safe place. It was an assuring hand that told us that it was ok to be nerdy. Honestly, I can't think of anything more cool than playing with rockets or cool robots, or fighting over Sci-fi movie justifications. It assured that we are who we are and we are the best version of ourselves. Sheldon reminds us that you need to be unapologetically you at any cost, if people don't like you, their loss.
Lift was finally repaired.
Bringing Penny's TV was a gigantic task for Sheldon and Leonard because of no lift situation. The fact that Sheldon failed to get out of the building before meeting Amy's mother in the beginning of their relationship was because of the list. The fixing of the elevator was in a way of completing Sheldon's character development, his ability to adapt to changes.
